At the heart of the research and development ecosystem is the non-profit Foundation Campus Biotech (FCBG), created on 5th December 2013 by EPFL, UNIGE, the HUG and the Canton of Geneva. Its main mission is to manage the academic, clinical and entrepreneurial entities of Campus Biotech, to host and support the research groups, to provide funding and to operate the common support platforms.
The uniqueness of Campus Biotech is that its pillar consists of scientific and technical platforms that support the research and development work of the whole ecosystem. These platforms and their associated tools are available to all of the community with the common goal of helping it to excel in its work. They are accessible both to residents and to the wider research community, enabling further interaction between research groups and between complementary worlds, such as research, industry and start-ups.
