La Fondation Campus Biotech ouvre pour le Service de Design and Manufacturing géré par le Laboratoire de Microtechnique et Bio-instrumentation de la Haute école du paysage, d’ingénierie et d’architecture de Genève, un poste de technicien-ne en Microtechnique pour l’assistance à la conception, la fabrication et la construction de bancs de tests et d’expériences pour divers projets de recherche et développement au service du Campus Biotech.

Description du poste

Le technicien-ne travaillera à l’aide au développement de divers systèmes touchant les domaines de la mécanique, électronique et informatique. Notamment, il s’occupera de :

  • Modéliser divers designs sur Créo ;
  • La mise en plan de pièces à faire produire par un atelier mécanique ;
  • Utilisation d’imprimantes 3D ;
  • Produire certaines pièces par usinages conventionnels ;
  • Assembler et tester de petits systèmes ;
  • Routage de PCB électroniques simples ;
  • Monter et tester des cartes électroniques ;
  • Programmer des cartes type Arduino.
  • Modéliser divers designs sur Créo ;

NEUROMODULATION FACILITY MANAGER

The Human Neuroscience Platform (HNP) of the Foundation Campus Biotech (FCBG) is seeking a full-time “Neuromodulation Facility Manager” to coordinate the Neuromodulation facility and develop methodologies such as multimodal applications of brain stimulation techniques with fMRI or EEG, modelling of neuro-stimulation effects and novel paradigms for neuromodulation. As the facility is open to all researchers (and more specifically those of the Campus Biotech) the thematic topics the whole range of systems neuroscience.

The appointee will run the Neuromodulation facility of the Human Neuroscience Platform at Campus Biotech. He/she will work in tight collaboration with the MRI and EEG facilities of the HNP. One key project will be the development of concurrent application of TMS/TES and fMRI and the computational analyses of effects of neuromodulation. The appointee will benefit from a rich research environment in systems neuroscience with excellent neuroscience, neuro-engineering and computational expertise within the Campus Biotech.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management of the Neuromodulation Facility, supervision and management of all equipment, software, hardware of this facility
  • Supervision of research protocols carried out within the facility, support and advice for projects performed in the facility
  • Application of safety rules within the facility
  • Integration (and/or development) of new technologies, such as TMS-fMRI at Campus Biotech
  • Data analysis and modelling: Modelling of electric and magnetic fields to improve neuromodulation effects in healthy subjects and neuropsychiatric patients, computational modelling of the effects of neuromodulation on a network level...
  • Interaction and communication with scientific, medical and industrial partners of the FCBG

Education

-          Ph.D. or equivalent, preferably in Biomedical engineering/imaging, physics, mathematics or related field

Technical skills and experience

-          Experience in neuromodulation, neuroimaging, computational neuroscience or modelling.

-          Programming abilities with Matlab, C and C++, Python

-          Excellent communication skills

SOFTWARE ENGINEER POSITION IN EEG AND BRAIN COMPUTER INTERFACE

The Campus Biotech houses numerous human neuroscience research groups of the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and of the University of Geneva. The EEG-BCI facility of the Fondation Campus Biotech Geneva offers state-of-the-art equipment and high-level expertise in EEG and BCI to these labs in order to give them the best possible environment to conduct their experiments.

The EEG-BCI facility is looking for a software engineer with strong experience in real-time signal processing, preferably of human electroencephalography (EEG) and brain computer interface (BCI), to develop, improve and maintain high-end closed-loop software. The work will be done in close collaboration with researchers of the Campus Biotech.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Improve and maintain our existing closed-loop software to make it multi-platform and user-friendly
- Develop new solutions to integrate various EEG systems in the closed-loop
- Integrate other kinds of physiological signals (e.g. electromyography), non-physiological signals (e.g. accelerometers) and devices in the closed-loop system
- Customize the software in close collaboration with campus biotech researchers
- Advice researchers to setup and perform their EEG-BCI experiments

Education
- Master degree or equivalent in engineering and/or Computer Science

- Strong experience with real-time processing
- Experience with signal processing and machine learning

VIRTUAL REALITY ENGINEER FOR APPLIED NEUROSCIENCE RESEARCH

The Virtual Reality facility provides the Campus Biotech (http://www.campusbiotech.ch) research community with state-of-the-art equipment in the field of immersive interaction, and motion analysis in virtual reality for experimental research and clinical applications. Fields of applications include: cognitive and affective assessment, cognitive and behavioral therapy, neurological rehabilitation, gait and upper limb rehabilitation. The facility is part of the larger Human Neuroscience Platform of Campus Biotech, offering equipment and competences for neuroscience and neuroprosthetics research, including but not limited to neurophysiology and electrical neuroimaging, non-invasive brain stimulation or neuromodulation, psychophysics, cognitive and behavioral experimentation, movement and gait analysis.

Combining strong engineering, analytical and organizing skills, you will join the team led by the Virtual Reality Facility Manager. You will work with researchers and engineers of Campus Biotech for designing, developing and maintaining software and hardware solutions for research projects involving virtual reality, motion capture technology, and biomechanical data analysis. You will be responsible for the setup and maintenance of virtual reality equipment, including large immersive systems (stereoscopic displays, HMD, etc.), full-body motion capture, and 3D content creation tools.

  • MSc in Engineering and/or Computer Science

Desirable

  • Specialization in Virtual Reality, 3D Computer Graphics or Computer Vision

Technical skills and experience

Essential

  • Experience in game engines (e.g. Unity3D, Unreal) and integration of Virtual Reality hardware (sensors, displays, actuators)
