Cette pr\u00e9sentation aborde le d\u00e9fi de la cr\u00e9ation de neuroproth\u00e8ses multifonctionnelles sous deux angles.<br data-start=\"445\" data-end=\"448\" \/>Premi\u00e8rement, nous pr\u00e9sentons une BCI test\u00e9e dans le cadre d\u2019essais cliniques qui permet aux participants de passer intuitivement entre diff\u00e9rentes sorties \u2014 comme la parole et le contr\u00f4le d\u2019un curseur \u2014 en d\u00e9codant de mani\u00e8re fluide l\u2019intention de l\u2019utilisateur.<br data-start=\"711\" data-end=\"714\" \/>Deuxi\u00e8mement, \u00e0 l\u2019aide d\u2019enregistrements \u00e0 tr\u00e8s grand nombre de canaux chez des primates non humains (Neuralink N1), nous \u00e9tudions les bases neuronales du changement de modes de contr\u00f4le. Nous montrons que le cortex moteur utilise une g\u00e9om\u00e9trie abstraite, ind\u00e9pendante de l\u2019effecteur, pour la planification du mouvement, distincte d\u2019une couche d\u2019ex\u00e9cution sp\u00e9cifique \u00e0 l\u2019effecteur. Cette structure compositionnelle fournit un cadre neuroscientifique puissant pour concevoir la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de BCI \u00e9volutives et polyvalentes.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1248\" data-end=\"1270\"><strong data-start=\"1252\" data-end=\"1268\">Biographie :<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1271\" data-end=\"2403\">Chethan Pandarinath est neuro-ing\u00e9nieur et neuroscientifique. Il cherche \u00e0 mieux comprendre comment le cerveau effectue des calculs et \u00e0 concevoir des interfaces cerveau-ordinateur (BCI) permettant aux personnes paralys\u00e9es de retrouver des capacit\u00e9s de mouvement et de communication.<br data-start=\"1554\" data-end=\"1557\" \/>Le Dr Pandarinath est professeur associ\u00e9 titulaire en g\u00e9nie biom\u00e9dical et en neurochirurgie \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Emory et au Georgia Institute of Technology, o\u00f9 il dirige le <em data-start=\"1725\" data-end=\"1757\">Systems Neural Engineering Lab<\/em>. Lui et son \u00e9quipe ont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 plusieurs m\u00e9thodes d\u2019apprentissage profond pour mettre en \u00e9vidence la dynamique des populations neuronales, telles que LFADS\/AutoLFADS, NDT, RADICaL et NoMAD. Ils ont \u00e9galement dirig\u00e9 plusieurs initiatives d\u2019open science autour de la mod\u00e9lisation \u00e0 variables latentes et des BCI, notamment le <em data-start=\"2084\" data-end=\"2110\">Neural Latents Benchmark<\/em>, le <em data-start=\"2115\" data-end=\"2137\">FALCON BCI Benchmark<\/em> et le <em data-start=\"2144\" data-end=\"2182\">Computation through Dynamics Toolkit<\/em>.<br data-start=\"2183\" data-end=\"2186\" \/>Depuis 2022, il codirige le site Emory de l\u2019essai clinique BrainGate, avec un accent particulier sur les interfaces cerveau-ordinateur multifonctionnelles visant \u00e0 restaurer le contr\u00f4le de la parole et du mouvement.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2405\" data-end=\"3195\">Le Dr Pandarinath a obtenu des dipl\u00f4mes de premier cycle en g\u00e9nie informatique, en physique et en politique scientifique \u00e0 NC State, puis un doctorat en g\u00e9nie \u00e9lectrique \u00e0 Cornell, portant sur les dispositifs de proth\u00e8ses r\u00e9tiniennes. Son post-doctorat \u00e0 Stanford, avec Jaimie Henderson, Krishna Shenoy et David Sussillo, s\u2019est concentr\u00e9 sur l\u2019am\u00e9lioration des performances des BCI cliniques et sur le d\u00e9veloppement de m\u00e9thodes d\u2019apprentissage profond pour mod\u00e9liser la dynamique des populations neuronales. Il est laur\u00e9at d\u2019une bourse Sloan en 2019, du <em data-start=\"2959\" data-end=\"2995\">NIH Director\u2019s New Innovator Award<\/em> en 2021, et a donn\u00e9 la <em data-start=\"3019\" data-end=\"3037\">Gilbreth Lecture<\/em> en 2024 \u00e0 la National Academy of Engineering.
