The Campus Biotech Geneva Foundation was created by EPFL, UNIGE and the State of Geneva to manage the Campus Biotech site at Sécheron, and to house and support the research groups. It provides funding and operational management for shared support platforms. To strengthen its IT team, it is looking for a :
 

Systems and Networks Engineer
 

Reporting to the IT Manager of the Campus Biotech Geneva Foundation, your main task will be to manage and develop our IT infrastructure, in full alignment with the evolving needs of our platforms.

Location: 1202 Geneva
Type of contract: 100% permanent

 

Duties and responsibilities:

- Design, implement and maintain the system, storage and network architecture
- Configuring and administering network equipment (switch, firewall, wifi)
- Manage servers, including installation, configuration, updating, backup and monitoring
- Ensure system and data security by implementing appropriate protection mechanisms
- Monitor network performance, diagnose problems and resolve incidents
- Ensure regular data and server back-ups and disaster recovery planning
- Working with the Helpdesk team to ensure seamless integration of applications and services into the infrastructure
- Document technical procedures, configurations and resolved problems
- Carry out technical projects and deploy the corresponding solutions
- Provide technical support to scientific platforms and resolve problems
- Manage the various technical contributors and ensure the transition to operations
- Stay abreast of technological trends and recommend enhancements

Required profile

Desired profile:

- Degree in IT (HES or equivalent)
- ITIL certified, other certifications related to knowledge an asset
- Relevant professional experience as a systems and network engineer
- Experience in Windows, Linux, VMware and M365 environments
- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft environment (AD, DNS, DHCP, Windows 10 & 11, Windows Server, Active Directory, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint)
- Very good knowledge of Ubuntu and Debian Linux environments
- Very good knowledge of networks and backup tools such as Veeam and Acronis
- Knowledge of VxRail, ELK, Isilon, Clearpass, Intune, automation tools, an asset
- Ability to work independently and manage several tasks simultaneously
- Excellent team spirit and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Mastery of the functional and technical aspects of a project
- Fluent French and B1 level English
