Date

Every year, the Web of Science, a scientific and technical information platform, publishes a list of "Highly cited researchers", which highlights researchers who are among the 1% most cited scientists in scientific journals. Three professors from the Faculty of Medicine, including one Professor based at Campus Biotech, appear in the 2020 ranking:
- Emmanouil Dermitzakis (Department of Genetic and Developmental Medicine, Diabetes Centre & Centre for Translational Research in Onco-haematology based at Campus Biotech);
- Stephan Harbarth (Department of Medicine & Infection Prevention and Control Service, HUG);
- Mikaël Pittet (Department of Pathology and Immunology & Centre for Translational Research in Onco-haematology).
This distinction underlines the excellence and importance of the work carried out by these scientists, each in their own speciality: genetics and the genetics of complex traits for Emmanouil Dermitzakis, the epidemiology and prevention of antibiotic-resistant infections for Stephan Harbarth, and the development of immunotherapeutic treatments for cancer for Mikaël Pittet.
