Auditory, Speech and Language Neuroscience Lab

The team

The team working under Professor Anne-Lise Giraud (UNIGE) is trying to understand the brain processes that make it possible to transform acoustic information from speech into mental images, how these processes are altered in linguistic development disorders, and how it is possible to intervene in these processes to restore normal functioning, for example in dyslexia, perceptive disorders in autism, hearing rehabilitation through a cochlear implant. In collaboration with the Wyss Centre, the team is endeavouring to correct the issue of encoding sounds of speech in dyslexia by modifying the functioning of the auditory cortex with the help of electrical transcranial stimulation.
