Campus Biotech is proud to have supported the BrainGate project (Prof. John Donoghue and his team at the Wyss Center), which consists of a brain-computer interface that creates text on screen by decoding the brain signals associated with handwriting at a speed of 90 characters per minute. A feat praised by project leader Prof. Leigh Hochberg: "the people who made the BrainGate trial possible are extraordinary. It is their pioneering spirit that not only allows us to gain new insights into the workings of the human brain, but leads to the creation of systems that will help other paralyzed people."
