At the heart of the research and development ecosystem is the non-profit Campus Biotech Geneva Foundation (FCBG), created on 5 December 2013 by EPFL, UNIGE, the HUG and the Canton of Geneva. Its main mission is to manage the academic, clinical and entrepreneurial entities of Campus Biotech, host and support research groups, provide funding and operate common support platforms.
An original feature of Campus Biotech is its backbone that consists of scientific and technical platforms that support the research and development efforts of the entire ecosystem. These platforms are tools made available to the community to enable it to excel in its work. They are accessible to both residents and the wider research community, and also promote interactions between research groups as well as between the complementary worlds such as research, industry and start-ups.
