2nd Annual Innovation Debate, Wednesday, January 8th, 2025
On 8 January at 17:00, the University of Geneva, Giga, and the Geneva Innovation Movement will kick off the new year with the 2nd Innovation Debate! As the digital world rapidly advances, so does the question of how to best prepare our workforce for tomorrow. Should Geneva, renowned for its international policy expertise, shift its focus toward developing technical skills in coding, data science, and technology development to remain competitive on the global stage? Or should the emphasis remain on digital ethics, policy, and regulation, where Geneva already has considerable influence?
This debate is designed to spur discussion around controversial ideas. Our panel of senior managers from across public, private and international organizations will exchange arguments and opinions in a heated and interactive setting as they try to convince the audience of their positions for and against the motion: “Geneva’s strength in the next decade will be enhanced by fostering technological expertise, coding and data science skills rather than prioritizing digital ethics, policy, and regulatory knowledge.”
You will get to decide who has the strongest arguments and wins the debate!
The debate will take place at Campus Biotech in Geneva (in-person only), register here!
