Florian is Assistant Professor at University of Geneva’s Department of Philosophy and a member of the Swiss Center for Affective Sciences. Trained in both philosophy and cognitive sciences, he has received his PhD at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (2011) for a doctoral thesis on the architecture of moral cognition. His research is mostly interdisciplinary, at the intersection of philosophy and psychology and has touched various topics such as moral philosophy, action theory, free will, philosophy of art, emotion psychology and social psychology. He is currently the leader of a SNSF Eccellenza research project on emotions and the meaning of life.
